Forza Logistics Group has invested in GenLogs to help combat freight fraud. The nationwide carrier intelligence network adds another check to its carrier verification programme.
GenLogs operates a physical sensor network across the United States that observes tractors and trailers in motion. This adds evidence beyond documents. Has anyone seen the carrier running its stated equipment on its stated lanes? Paperwork can be forged. A truck on the interstate cannot.
Why GenLogs matters for freight fraud prevention
Digital fraud now accounts for close to a third of all cargo theft events. No one takes the freight at gunpoint. Instead, an impostor may arrive at the dock under a real carrier’s authority. The paperwork looks correct, but the impostor controls the phone number. As a result, dock staff may struggle to spot the fraud.
GenLogs monitors roughly 99 percent of active U.S. motor carriers, which makes it a practical cross-check against the federal record rather than a replacement for it.
Now part of Forza Shield. GenLogs is one of eight independent verification layers behind every Forza load. See how Forza Shield works.
The regulatory backdrop
The investment was announced days after the Supreme Court decided Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, which held that federal law does not shield freight brokers from state negligent-hiring claims. Carrier selection stopped being purely an operational question that month and became a liability question as well.
