Forza Intelligence / Freight Security

Freight security starts
before release.

Reduce pickup risk by connecting the approved carrier, the people communicating, the arriving driver, and the equipment to the shipment plan. An authority record or insurance certificate answers only part of that question. Use these resources to build a clearer review before your freight leaves the dock.

Start with the right question

Different checks answer different questions.

01 / COMPANY

Is the carrier legitimate?

Check the carrier’s identity and operating authority using independent records. A legitimate business can still have its identity misused by someone else.

02 / CONNECTION

Who controls the conversation?

Confirm unexpected contact changes through an independently established contact. A familiar name on paperwork does not prove that the sender represents that company.

03 / HANDOFF

Does the pickup match?

Connect driver, truck, trailer, pickup authorization, and shipment details before release. Pause an unexplained mismatch and resolve it with the responsible team.

What is a fictitious pickup?

A fictitious pickup is a deceptive attempt to collect freight without legitimate authorization, sometimes using a real carrier’s identity. The key question is whether the person and equipment at the dock connect to the approved booking—not simply whether the company on the paperwork exists.

What should a shipper check before releasing freight?

  1. Approved booking: confirm the assigned carrier and shipment reference through the established process.
  2. Driver and equipment: compare the arriving details with the approved plan and document changes.
  3. Independent confirmation: resolve unexpected substitutions through a known contact, rather than relying only on new contact details supplied with the change.
  4. Release decision: identify who can approve an exception. Keep the freight at the dock while an unresolved discrepancy is reviewed.

An equipment mismatch alone is not proof of fraud. A substitution may have a legitimate explanation; it still needs to be reconciled before release.

How does unauthorized re-brokering create risk?

When a shipment changes hands without approval, the carrier the shipper expects may differ from the company actually moving the load. Clarify who is assigned, whether reassignment is permitted, and who must approve changes. Confirm the final driver and equipment against that approved arrangement.

Can carrier verification eliminate cargo theft?

No. Connected checks support better decisions and help identify discrepancies; they cannot eliminate every risk or guarantee recovery. Ask which controls apply to your shipment and how exceptions will be escalated.
